Personal Information and other data we collect

SA Consumer Products collects certain information from and about you through the Site.

Personally Identifiable Information – This is information that you voluntarily provide to us when you place an order, make a review, or sign up to receive marketing emails from us.  The information may include name, email address, physical address, phone number, and possibly Company Info.  We do not collect credit card information. 

Except in the circumstances listed below, we will never otherwise share your personal information with anyone else without your consent:

• We will share your information as necessary to provide you with information you have requested, respond to customer service issues, and provide other information that may be of interest or use to you regarding our products;
• To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of contracts, or as otherwise required by or to comply with federal, state or other law, court order or lawful subpoena;
• If SA Consumer Products is acquired by or merged with another company, in which case we will notify you of such an acquisition or merger.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information – Our website also automatically collects certain demographic data, such as URL last visited, page accessed, anonymized IP address, browser type and language, and the date and time of certain actions, which is used for site maintenance and improvement, and general analysis.  This information is not linked to any individual user and cannot be used to identify any specific user. 

 

Review of Personal Information and Opting-Out

Opting-out. Even after you have consented to our collection and use of your personal information, you may opt-out of having your personal data collected or used by us by contacting us via one of the methods described above. You also have the right to opt-out of having your personal data disclosed to an independent third party or used for some reason other than why originally collected.

Your Rights With Respect to Your Information

• Right to not be subject to Automated Decision-Making – This is your right to object and prevent any decision that could have a legal, or similarly significant, effect on you from being made solely based on automated processes.  This right is limited, however, if the decision is necessary for performance of any contract between you and us, is allowed by applicable European law, or is based on your explicit consent.

We also do not require or seek any “special categories” of information under GDPR including racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, sexual orientation or health information,

You will not normally have to pay a fee to access your information or exercise any of these rights.  However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive.  Alternatively, in these situations we may elect to refuse to comply with an unfounded, repetitive or excessive request.

To help us confirm your identity and ensure you can exercise any of the above rights, we may request certain information from you.  This is for security purposes to ensure that your data is not disclosed to any person that has no right to receive it.

We will try to respond to any legitimate requests within one month, but if the request is complex, unique, or there have been a number of requests made by you in a short amount of time, our time to respond may take longer.  If our response will take longer, we will keep you informed of our progress.

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required for necessary business purposes or required by law.

We are committed to keeping your personal information safe.  We therefore take appropriate and commercially reasonable technical, physical and organizational precautions, taking into account our size and purpose, the sensitivity and volume of information we hold, the size and complexity of our operations, and the cost of available tools, to protect personally identifiable information that we collect.  Among other things, all connections to our server are via HTTPS and all data is encrypted in transit.  Additionally, our hardware and software is updated regularly with the latest security patches. 

However, no protection method, hardware or software is 100% perfect and information can therefore be lost, even with appropriate protections.  You understand and agree that there is no such thing as perfect security and therefore SA Consumer Products cannot, and is not, guaranteeing, ensuring or warranting that the information we collect about you or that you transmit to us will never be compromised, and that you are accepting that risk.

You can also help keep your information safe by keeping your account information and access information confidential and using strong passwords.  You should also limit access to your computer, place appropriate security software on your computer and log out and close your browser after accessing your account and other information.

 

Cookies

It is different than a cookie in that it is not browser-based, may not function as an identification card and does not store any data on your computer.  SA Consumer Products does not utilize web beacons.

Cookies and web beacons may be used by third party advertisers or third party vendors (such as facebook) that have links on our Site.  Those cookies and their use are subject to those parties’ privacy policies, not ours, and we disclaim all liability in connection therewith.

Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies and similar devices. Do Not Track

When you visit a website, your browser automatically shares certain information, such as your IP address and other device information. Such sharing can allow the website and/or content providers to track you over time and across multiple websites. Today, many browsers offer Do Not Track plugins that allow you to express a preference that you not be tracked, and that tell websites that you visit, by sending an electronic beacon, this preference. At this time, our Site does not respond to Do Not Track beacons sent by browser plugins.  SA Consumer Products, however, does not track you over time and across websites.

 

Links to Other Sites

Our site contains links to other websites operated by third parties that are not bound by our privacy policy. Any personal information that you provide to other websites will be subject to the privacy policies of that site. SA Consumer Products has no control over the information collection and distribution policies of these sites, and has no responsibility or liability for their policies or actions. You will be notified when leaving our site or links will be clearly identified and other sites will not be embedded in our site. This statement applies to SA Consumer Products’ products, services and websites worldwide (collectively, SA Consumer Products’ “services”).

 

Age Limits

The Site is not designed for, targeted to, or intended for people under 18 years of age.  SA Consumer Products does not knowingly collect any information from persons under 18 years of age.  If we learn that we have collected personal information from anyone under 18 years of age, we will take reasonable steps to delete the personal information.

 

Location of Site and Data

The Site is operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provided to us will be transferred to the United States. By using our Site, participating in any of our services and/or providing us with your information, you consent to this transfer.

 

Jurisdiction

Except as otherwise prohibited by law, this Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois without regard to choice of law rules. Any claim, lawsuit, or other action related to or arising out of the Site, its use, or this Privacy Policy, shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Cook County, Illinois.
